Curriculum Overview

  1. Minyan & Tefillah - מניין ותפילה

    1. Daily, Rosh Chodesh, and Moadim minyanim
    2. Be'ur Tefillah & Kavana of select prayers
  2. Chumash - חומש

    1. ספר דברים - Sefer Devarim Selected Sugiot.  Emphasis on Rashi skills. Introduction of comparative study of Mefarshim of Mikra'ot Gedolot.  Developing skills for independent research of Judaic sources from Torah sheb'chtav to contemporary halacha.
    2. פרשת השבוע - Parshat HaShavuah our three year program with a spiraled approach to its topics, its values & mitzvot
    3. Chidon Section - for advanced learning.  This year's materials includes selections from 
      ספר שמות, מלכים
      א ' , עזרא, נחמיה
  3. Talmud - תלמוד

    1. Masechet Bava Metzi'a, Perek Hamafkid - selected classical sugiot and development of reading & interpretation skills, Rashi & some tosafot skills; chevruta style learning with focus on development of independent study skills; emphasis on responsibilities Bein Adam L'chaveiro
    2. In some classes - selected Sugiot from other Masechtot for learning before the holidays
  4. Dinim - דינים

    1. Hilchot Shabbat. The 39 Melachot - Avot & Toladot with practical applications
    2. Holiday laws and customs
    3. This year we will also incorporate into our Dinim and Talmud classes the Yachad lessons in caring community and anti-bullying

  5. Navi - נביא

    1. מלכים א ' ' - Melachim A' and selections from Melachim B'
    2. Selected chapters depicting the major events and personalities in Kings A-Melachim Aleph including: the Kingdom of David and how it is transferred to Shlomo; David's troubles; Chochmat Shlomo; Binyan HaMikdash, Tefillat Shlomo; Keriyat Malchut Shlomo; Malchut Yisrael and Malchut Yehudah; Nevuat Eliyahu and Elisha, Churban
