Curriculum Overview

Classes meet once a week.

The 8th grade curriculum will cover the time period from The Immigration of Jews to Eastern Europe in the early 16th century through modern day Israel.  The curriculum will include a comprehensive unit on the Holocaust and the establishment of Medinat Yisrael.

Approach:  Due to the short nature of the classes, the goal is to give students an overview and a general understanding of the issues and processes our nation underwent during this period of time.

A complete syllabus is available online at http://jwit.cuip.net/~bwiesenberg

Text:  2000 years of Jewish History by Rabbi Chaim Schloss

Supplementary texts and excerpts are used to teach modern Jewish history.
