The
Alpha Neta Program promotes development of Hebrew as a communicative language
in a natural process. It promotes thinking skills and encourages students to
become independent learners. Special emphasis is put on environmental
reinforcement through active bulletin board displays, cooperative learning in
small groups, active participation, extra review through games, physical
activities, art and music. As in the other Lashon sections, our methods
for language acquisition include usage of all channels of communication,
integration of literature, Dikduk, language patterns and oral and written
skills in an Ivrit language arts program.
In
addition to the language skills, the program focuses on Jewish and Zionistic
values, on the bond between our nation and its homeland, and on our
understanding the sequence of Jewish history until modern time. The
instruction is designed around the individual needs of the students after
carefully assessing strengths and needs. The teaching focuses on
individual pacing and learning style, and allows more room for review and
reinforcement of each newly acquired skill. The program will prepare the
students for the Neta Programs used in the upper grades and in high school.
